Day 9, 25 Nov 2008
The weather was pretty fine today. So I was expecting a good trip. Yesterday, we didnt manage to use the London Pass, as most of the places we visited didnt require the pass for entrance. As the starting of the day, we went to St Paul's Cathedral. The architecture and its famous Dome were attractive. But sad to say that I've seen too many amazing cathedrals in Italy, so St Paul didnt really create a huge impact on me. However, for those who have time and wish to explore further, they could climb up the staircases to the peak of the Dome and get a nice view of London city.
St Paul's Cathedral
Next, we went to Tower of London. It's too easy to get there, just get down at Tower's Hill Underground. It's a historic Royal Palace not to be missed. If u were fantasizing about the life of a prince or princess, or wondering how's their crowns look like, perhaps this place could give u some hints.

A good view of Gerkin from Tower of London
Then, how could we miss the symbol of London, the Tower Bridge? Well, this is the Tower Bridge, but too many people thought that it is London Bridge. I will show u the London Bridge after this.
Tower Bridge
We went up the Tower Bridge. Actually there was nothing much inside, apart from an engine room, and also a mini theater showing the history of Tower Bridge. Anyway, it was a perfect location for enjoying the scenery of London. From the 2nd floor of the Tower Bridge, I've taken the following pictures.
Thames River
London Bridge & HMS Belfast
After this, we took a river cruise from Tower Hill wharf to Westminster wharf. And here it comes another famous landmark of London - the Big Ben.
Big Ben
It was almost 1.30pm after we had enough view of this Big Ben. So we moved to another area, Kensington. The main purpose of going there was to visit the Royal Albert Hall. Since we had the London Pass, so we could join the one-hour tour in the hall. I've been playing music since the age of 8 years old, so I'm very much into Classical and Baroque great music pieces. When we were there, we were simply too lucky to have the chance to listen to a brief rehearsal of an opera singer accompanied by the orchestra. We also visited to the rest room of Queen Elizabeth whenever she was there for the musical.
Royal Albert Hall
The time was getting late after the tour to Royal Albert Hall. Initially we wanted to visit to the Kensington Palace, but too sad it was quite far away, and we were tired to walk. So we ended up visiting to another huge park, Hyde Park opposite Royal Albert Hall.
Hyde Park
After the Hyde Park, we went back to Leicester Square, as we had a musical to watch - Phantom of the Opera. The dinner tonight was at Burger King, as we were in a rush for the show. Talking about this musical, actually we were not supposed to take any picture during the performance. But I took the following pic without flash, and of course I got a warning from the worker :p Who cares?
Phantom of the Opera
Finally after this 2-hour show, we moved our ass back. A good sleep was seriously required as we got another day trip to the suburb on the next morning.
