Australia - Day1 *Gold Coast*

Day 1, 24 May 09

This morning, surprisingly I didnt wake extra early. We departed to Gold Coast about 10am. I bet this is one thing good about free & easy travelling, no timing constraint, no restriction. U can move and stop anytime u wish.

This is the cute little Getz we had rented for our adventure.

After driving out from Birchwood, the place we were staying, we had a breakfast at Subway. I love the long bun with hot chocolate drinks. Driving to Gold Coast from Brisbane was really an easy task with GPS, and I actually find it very fun. Furthermore, u could hardly get lost with all the signboards available.

GPS

Pacific Motorway

Initially, our plan for today was Seaworld. However, when we were approaching Gold Coast, we saw a big signboard of MOVIEWORLD at the highway. So we ended up following it, rather than the GPS. Surprise, just a right turn after the traffic light, and Movieworld was right there! Feeling very excited as we arrived at the first destination without any hassle, a huge success :) There were ample free parking spaces at the entrance, so this is not a worry at all.

Entrance of Movieworld. Look at that Batman Tower, and I actually went up on it!

Superman Escape!!! This thrill ride went vertically downward at almost 90 degree, with exceptionally fast speed

Waiting for our turn to take picture with Shrek. The 4D show was amazing.

Hollywood Stunt Drivers. This live show was really worth watching with big claps.

Wild Wild West

Movieworld Parade @ Main Street

After watching the parade, HY bought 2 Shreks T-shirt, one for himself and one for KN. I cant imagine when both of them wearing the same shirts. We also bought a dragon for KN. The height was about 1m, and I was wondering how should I bring this crap back...

Then, we left Movieworld about 4pm, and continued our exploration to other parts of Gold Coast. We went to the Main Beach at Surfer's paradise, which was well known for surfing. However, this season was not a good timing as the wave was too strong. But this is a good news for us, as there would be super sales for all the summer clothing... hee hee

Super strong wind & ferocious waves @ Main Beach Surfer's Paraside

We parked our car at the public parking areas, just along the Main Beach, known as The Esplanade. Since it was Sunday and after 5pm, so no parking fee was imposed. The first destination I would go is definitely Louis Vuitton at Orchid Avenue. I was eyeing on Multicolore Judy PM for quite some time, and this is a must-grab baby after I've seen the actual product. The sales assistant, Emiko, was a super nice Japanese. Since multicolore comes differently in every single piece of product, so Emiko showed me all the 3 bags they have in stock. Thanks HY for the lovely gift, which was my 2nd preys in Aus trip :)

Louis Vuitton Gold Coast

After buying the LV, we continued to explore the nearby areas such as Elkhorn Avenue, Ferny Avenue and Surfer Paradise Boulevard. Our dinner was at a Chinese Restaurant.

Dinner - Ma Po Tou Fu + Rice + Soup + Chinese Tea

It was about 9pm by then, and we drove back to Brisbane. I enjoyed the day very much.
