This was our 3rd day exploring Shanghai. Early in the morning at about 8am, we waited for the sightseeing bus at East Nanjing Station, since we could still use the ticket until 4pm. Our plan today was pretty simply, following the route of the sightseeing bus.
Firstly, we went to the famous and yet historical Cheng Huang Temple (城隍庙), also known as Yu Garden (豫园). Here, u could find all the traditional stuffs, mix together with the modern rhythms. U could get everything under one roof, such as souvenirs, food, traditional stuffs, jewellery, blouse, just name them!

Here at Cheng Huang Temple, one thing not to be missed is the famous Xiao Long Bao (南翔小笼包) at Nan Xiang Restaurant. When we were approaching, we could see bizzare long lines queuing, just for the taste of the Xiao Long Bao. In order to avoid the queue, we went upstairs to the restaurant to eat in a comfortable environment. However, the price was triple more expensive than groundfloor. So, it's your choice :)
Horrible queue at Nan Xiang Restaurant
No worry, come to the first floor, as long as u are willing to pay the price
Juicy Xiao Long Bao - Fresh Meat & Crab Flavour
Fried Prawn Balls
Here is the price! Sorry, I'd rather pay this than queuing to waste the time
Some other places to explore inside this area were such as Cheng Huang Temple, Yu Garden, and Jiu Qu Bridge. Didn't manage to see the real look of Cheng Huang Temple, as we didn't bother to pay the entrance fee.. gee.. I managed to grab a Cheong Sam for myself, so fitting and I really fall in love with it.

Next stop was Old City Wall (古城墙). The entrance fee is inclusive in the sightseeing bus ticket. In 1553, during the Ming Dynasty, Shanghai built a city wall to defend itself against Japanese pirates. The wall measured 8.1m high and 4.8km width, with 10 gates. All that remains today is 50m of the wall, while the rest was dismantled in 1912. There is also a small exhibition inside about the life of Old Chinese City.

Third stop of the day was Xin Tian Di (新天地). It definitely feels refreshing to find this elegant urban tourist attraction that holds the historical and cultural legacies of the city. Shanghai Xin Tian Di is a fashionable pedestrian street composed of Shikumen (石窟门), built in 1800) and modern architecture style. In short, this high class place was rebuilt in 1997 which maintains its antique look. The expenses were very high, for shopping and dining.
Yogula - Yoghurt + Fruits = RMB50
Set Lunch = RMB50 (Promo price)
After strolling at Xin Tian Di, we took the sightseeing bus back to the Urban Living Exhibition Hall (main stop). From there, we walked to Huai Hai Road (淮海路) , a very high-end shopping district.

Finally, we went back to the People's Square about 5pm, by using metro as our sightseeing card was expired at 4pm. Before heading back to the hotel, we done some shopping at the underground shopping arcade at People's Square.
