China - Day2 *Shanghai & Faye Wong*

20 Nov 2010

Today is Faye Wong's Shanghai Concert! Early in the morning, we went to Hangzhou train station to catch the 9am bullet train to Shanghai. With just RMB131 for the first class seat, u dun have to squeeze inside the normal cabin. The seat was super comfy, and I really enjoyed the ride. This high-speed railway (沪杭高铁) was newly launched in early October, which shortens the Hangzhou-Shanghai route from 78 minutes to 38 minutes, with maximum speed of 350km/h, woopps!

The route is: Hangzhou City Railway Station (城站火车站) - Shanghai Hong Qiao Station (海虹桥站)

It was quite easy to move around at Hong Qiao Station, and this is a newly built station, which was clean and organised. It was very convenient, as the Metro Station is attached inside. We took Line 2 (Green) to Nanjing Hotel (East Nanjing Road Station, Exit 1) for only RMB6, 11 stations away from Hong Qiao. After checking in, we went for lunch at a restaurant opposite our hotel.

Next, we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Nanjing Road, and done some shopping. I also bought the Piano Duet Concert ticket for 28 Nov.

At about 6pm, we were so ready for Faye Wong's Concert. The venue was at Expo Mercedes-Benz Arena, which could be reached by using Metro Line 8, Yaohua Road Station. However, from the station, we walked for another 20 minutes to reach the destination.
