Day 2, 03 Dec 09
I want to emphasize on this: Our hotel room. After paying an extra MOP960, of course the room was upgraded to a luxury one. Situated at 14 floor, and can only be accessed with personal chip card. But we had a problem with the bathroom, it was fully made of glass, meaning it was totally transparent! When u were bathing, peeing, shitting, washing face etc... all this could be seen, clearly! Ok, an unusual experience.
Again, breakfast was at the hotel restaurant, as this was included in the room package. Today, we tried the western breakfast instead of dim sum.
American Breakfast
First destination of the day was to A-ma Temple, situated at South-West of Macau City. It could be reached by public bus, about 20 minutes ride. Since the previous day was not too cold, so I was just wearing a long sleeve blouse for today. Damn hell, when we reached the temple, it was so windy, and I was shivering. WC and mum went into the temple for some prayer, and I waited for them outside, sitting on a bench under a tree, and being abused by the strong wind...
A nice building next to A-ma Temple. And I was sitting under that tree.
A-ma Temple
A Corner inside the temple
After that, we moved on to various historical sites.
Moorish Barracks
Lilau Square. A damn dog kept barking non-stop, and I felt so much wanting to slap it!
Residential Area at Lilau Square
Mandarin's House. But we could not enter due to renovation, again...
It was indeed a tough job to walk on foot during such a windy day. When too much energy was spent, we felt hungry again. So... time to eat! And it was so much better after the warm drinks, to keep us continue walking.
Peanut Milk Toast + Teh Si at a very small & quiet coffee shop. The teh si was delicious enough, but wait til u have tested the original one in HK!
After the tea session, we visited a few interesting sites. On our way to the church, we spotted a Japanese young man, who was travelling with his mum. And he was wearing a T-shirt with a short pants, in this kind of weather, for God's sake!
St Lawrence's Church
Dom Pedro V Theater
St Augustine's Church, and that's the Japanese I'm talking about. Look at his attire....
Sir Robert Ho Tung Library
Inside the library. Temperature check was required before entering
That's all for the historical sites. And it's time to eat again!!! We love food!
After that, we went to the main road, Avenida De Almeida Bibeiro for shopping. Yaohan was really a disappointing one. I ended up buying all the cosmetics at Sasa. We also went to Wynn Macau Casino, main purpose is to check out the price of my Chanel. It was more expensive compare to Hong Kong, and what more, out of stock!
Wynn Macau
Grand Lisboa Casino, took this pic on my way to Wynn
It was only 3pm by then, so we decided to go Venetian Macau. It was situated at Taipa, about 30 minutes from Macau City. We took the free shuttle bus from Wynn to Border Gate, and hopped on to Venetian free shuttle bus at there. What a service! There were plenty of shopping arcades inside Venetian, so u can always enjoy other activities if u feel very heart-ache to dump in ur blood sweat money at the casino. We bought some blouses there, I like Zara a lot.
Man-made Venice, fancy a Gondola ride? Of course the actual Venice is so much nicer. I miss Venice...
Evening inside Venetian
Very expensive dinner, but it was yummy!
We took the shuttle bus back to Macau City after the dinner. Before heading back to hotel, we did another round of shopping at Senado Square. We bought curry fish balls and some buns as supper. There was one incident at the fish ball stall. When I was paying the money, the lady didn't hold the coins properly, and one coin fall into the boiling curry soup!!! I left after that, and whether she picked up the coin or not, I don't know. But I doubt she would do so... Good luck to the rest of the customers after me!
That's my Macau trip, and we were heading to Hong Kong the next day :) A good sleep is required as our vessel was 8am.
