HK - Day 5 *Lantau Island*

Day 5, 06 Dec 09

It's the fifth day of my trip. On the previous night, we just decided to go Lantau Island for today. Before the trip, of course a stomach-filling breakfast was essential. We had another yummy HK breakfast, my favourite Teh Si.

Luncheon Meat, Eggs, Sandwich, Toast........

To go to Lantau Island, we took the MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central, and interchange to Tung Chung, which took about an hour as it was really far. When we arrived, mum was having stomachache, so we went into Citygate Outlet for the toilet. While waiting for her, I took a sneak preview in MNG, and ended up mum was the one who was buying after she settled her feaces. We all exercised strict self-control for not entering other shops, as it was really troublesome to carry all the things to Ngong Ping.

To get up the cable car was indeed a long queue. And today was very windy... I wanted to buy the ticket for Crystal Cabin, which has a huge transparent glass underneath the cable car, and it gave u a feeling of flying in the cloud. However, the vote was 2 to 1, of course WC and mum wouldn't even dare to think about it. Nevermind, dropped the idea then, so I ended up buying the ticket for normal cable car, HKD107 for round trips. For those who has phobia in height, it is not advisable to take this cable car, as it took about 30 minutes, 5.7km with freaking high view.

While inside the cable car, u could enjoy the great view of South China Sea, the glassland of North Lantau Country Park, Hong Kong International Airport, Tian Tan Buddha Statue and 360-degree view of the Ngong Ping Plateau.

Freak u out! WC could hardly utter a word throughout the journey. She was too frightened... OMG! But I was busy taking pics, enjoying the scenery & cool breeze.

Upon arrival at the cable car station, we walked to Ngong Ping Village. The setting was ancient Tang's Dynasty. This cultural themed village has other attractions such as Tea House and Theatre. We bought a mixed gelato which costs HKD$30!! Then, we walked towards the back part to Tian Tan Buddha Statue.

After coming down, WC and mum went to a temple for prayers. I was waiting for them under a shade, and it was rather cold. At about 4pm, we took the cable car and went back to the ground station. And of course, it was shopping time at Citygate Outlet! We really swept a lot here, such as Coach, Crocs, Nike, Adidas, MNG etc.

At about 6pm, we took the MTR to Central, and interchange to Causeway Bay. The dinner tonight was at the food court in Timesquare.

We returned to Tsim Sha Tsui at 9pm. Before heading back to hotel, we went across to Avenue of Star for night view, and also last round of shopping at Sasa and Bonjour.
