Malacca City of Historic - Day 2

10 June 2010

Today, we continued our visits to the historical sites nearby.

Train, sponsored by Keretapi Tanah Melayu KTM (Malayan Railways Limited)

War World II? I doubt it could still function

Maritime Museum

The museum is built in a replica of a Portuguese ship, 'Flo De La Mar' that sank off the coast of Malacca while she was on her way to Portugal.

Old Wall with Cannon

Next was Jonker Street again, time to enjoy food.

Hokkien Association

Father & daughter, selling candy & peanut cookies

A Famosa Chicken Rice

This shop was located at the centre of Jonker Street. The food was so much more delicious compared to Chung Wah at the entrance of Jonker. For those who are interested, please ignore Chung Wah & continue walking :)

The restaurant not only serving nice food, but also having such a wonderful setting of ancient plot. It is very clean, and neatly maintained. Of course, reasonable price. It is really worth a try. Even the famous food critic, Choi Lan from Hong Kong, had a super good recommendation about this restaurant.

He even personally wrote a nice calligraphy sign board as a gift to the shop owner.

Let's see, what are the good food available...

Chicken Rice Balls & Steamed Chicken

BBQ Pork

Otar-Otar (Steamed Fish-Cake with Curry Flavour)

For the afternoon session, we spent our time at Dataran Shopping Mall. I was busy with manicure & pedicure, while HY went for a Thai Massage. After that, we went across to Mahkota Parade. And ended up, we bought a pair of spectacles each. I grabbed an Emporio Armani, while HY chose a pair by Marc Jacob.

As for dinner, we had a good time at Restaurant Seri Nyonya, situated at the 3rd floor of Equatorial Hotel. I like the Nyonya setting very much, and of course the original Nyonya dish.
