Australia - Day6 *Byron Bay*

Day 6, 28 Dec 09

At first, HY was uncertain whether we should be heading to Byron Bay or not. It is because, we could not locate it in the GPS. Byron Bay was located at the north of New South Wales. Since it was a famous tourist spot, there must be proper road signs as guidance. Actually I did ask about it at the Tourist Information Counter at Harbour Town. The lady told me, just follow M1 Motorways, and we couldn't miss the road sign.

After convincing HY, we all agreed to give it a try. The GPS started to lose track when we passed by Gold Coast. Luckily, the road sign was clear enough to lead us to the destination.

Byron Bay, here we are!

My Snack - Maple Crumble @ Brumby

Then, we drove up to Cape Byron, a spectacular spot. We were lucky enough to get a parking space up there. It was really windy, and luckily the sun was not strong as it was a little cloudy.

Cape Byron Light House

Nice Ocean... Many of them saw the dolphins but I couldn't spot any :(

Keep walking...

This is really a good form of physical activities! Walking all the way down

We also had a swimming session at Clarkes Beach on our way down from the light house. Since it was already 4pm, together with the cloudy weather, this would be the best to prevent any further sunburnt issue. We really had a great time here, jumping in the waves.

Clarkes Beach, the seawater was freezing cold, and the strong wind kept blowing

Late in the evening, on our way back to Brisbane. Everyone was exhausted.

Tonight, we all had our dinner at Gong's Korean Restaurant with TM. After the dinner, we went up to Mt Cootha.

Very Tempting... Yum yum

Australia - Day5 *Movie World*

Day 5, 27 Dec 09

This was my 2nd visit to Movie World. The main purpose is to accompany our friends, so it was quite fun too even though there was not much changes in the theme park.

Well well, we had a small incident before heading to Movie World. The breakfast was at a Vietnamese Restaurant opposite Louis Vuitton at Surfer's Paradise. Being so ignorant and parked the car at Loading Zone, we ended up getting an Infringement Notice of AUD70.

An Expensive Breakfast!

This round, I tried on certain thrilling games where I have missed during my last visit - Superman Escape & Scooby Doo Haunted House. As usual, I wouldn't miss the Turbo Drop Batman game. I will definitely go for this game in every theme park I visit. we also enjoyed watching the Shrek 4D show & Hollywood Stunt Driver. Not to forget, we snapped some pictures with Marilyn Monroe, Austin Power & Tweety Bird! It would be perfect if I could get it with Bugs Bunny & Batman. Last time, we only managed to take the picture with Shrek. Perhaps I should try my luck for the 3rd time?? Haha...

Superman Escape

Hollywood Stunt Driver - I missed out these 2 pics for June visit, not in time to snap them.

We had our dinner at Mongkok Restaurant, Sunnybank, on PL's treat!

Australia - Day4 *Boxing Day*

Day 4, 26 Dec 09

What could be more exciting than Boxing Day?? We have decided to spend our lavish shopping spree at Harbour Town, Gold Coast. Everyone woke up on time as they were so afraid that the goods might be swept away...

After the breakfast at home, we drove all the way down to Gold Coast. I was not as excited as they all, as I always believe that, a light-hearted mind set will probably bring an unexpected surprise! Today, the traffic was rather heavy. We were joking that everyone were rushing down to Gold Coast for this hunting activity!

Not a problem to look for parking space as we reached the destination at about 10am. We shopped all the way until 3pm before we had our lunch. I didn't really buy a lot, just a few dresses and blouse. However, I enjoyed seeing people rushing here and there to hunt for the items they want. The changing room was indeed a real nightmare, as the crowds were really extraordinary!

Lunch - Cheesy Chicken Steak

Spaghetti with Mussels

At 5pm, we went over to the Reading Cinema for watching Avatar. Before this, we put all the items in the car. And guess what, we walked 3 rounds in order to finish bringing all the stuffs to the car...

Just look at all these!!!

The dinner tonight was at a Chinese Restaurant at Surfer's Paradise.

Reached home about 11pm. They still couldn't let go their eyes on the things they bought...

Australia - Day3 *Sunshine Coast*

Day 3, 25 Dec 09

It's Christmas! =)
Not a white Xmas in Brisbane!

Today, we continued our journey to the most spectacular beach at Sunshine Coast - Noosa Head. Since it was Christmas, the traffic was kind of relieve as there weren't much cars on the highway. I bet everyone was enjoying their sweet time with family at home. It took about 2 hours to reach Noosa Head from Brisbane. We visited 2 beaches there - Sunshine Beach & Peregian Beach.

Flawless Traffic

Saw this cute little Koala sign when we were approaching Noosa Head

Sunshine Beach

A lot of people were having a picnic here

Prettiest & breath-taking scene

Peregian Beach

At about 2pm, we moved down to Maroochydore. Not even one single shop was open!! This is really another spectacular scene.

A water skiing area at Maroochydore

Then, we drove to another small town, Bli Bli, about 10 minutes from Maroochydore.

Bli Bli

Sunshine Castle - Close for Christmas

Well, it was not "fun" when u were hungry, but not even one shop is available to be your savior. We drove from Bli Bli all the way down to Mooloolaba, hoping to find something to heal our grumbling stomach.

This is not funny at all... A quiet & dead town

Finally, we saw a ray of light in the darkness - Noodle Box!!! One and ONLY ONE shop which was on business.

Of course, we were energetic again after the stomach filling session. So we went to the nearby beach before heading to airport for picking up MS.

Mooloolaba Beach

This is my Xmas gift after exposing to extra strong sunlight for 2 days. And until now, this part of my neck is still in dark colour. It's been 3 months....

During evening, we picked up MS at the airport. Tonight, we had our dinner at home. After the dinner, we went for a stroll at the city area. This time, HY & I are like tour guide, as we were quite familiar with Brisbane after our visit in June.

Spotted this housing area nearby our place at Birchwood. Look at how they decorated their home for Xmas!!
