One Friday evening, fly down to SG for weekend getaway.
After checking in at MBS hotel, I had a stroll at MBS shoppes, alone. DH was
busy with his business stuff so I had the time all for myself. Hopped into Hermes, I was like a lost sheep. My mind was full of impossible items. There
comes a nice SA, and I asked her if Picotin was available. As expected, nothing
was in stock. I tried on the belt instead, but the size was a little too tight,
and it was one and only piece left. She went into the storeroom to search for a
bigger size, but came out empty handed.
It was 8.30pm, and I was the only customer in the
store. Then, I started to chit chat with
her regarding the stocks. She told me a very funny statement – Kelly &
Birkin were no longer in waitlist, but in everyone’s “wishlist” instead!” A
bitter-sweet truth. She was indeed a very nice and frank SA, I could sense it
during our conversation.
And suddenly, I popped out one question, which was buried
inside me since long ago.
“Do you actually help to take reservation for Lindy? I know
this bag is of high demand too.” Out of my expectation, she actually said yes. I
asked her how long would be the wait? Could it be few months, half a year, or
even longer? She just gave me an uncertain smile. She also be frank and told me
that she had a few customers who were asking for Lindy. So, after telling her the colour I want, I left my name and contact number with her, and politely thanked her for the nice chat. I also reserved a belt.
I didn’t put in any high hope, as I afraid that piece of
paper will be ended up in the dustbin.
After 3 days, yes exactly 3 days, she called me. My mind was
totally blank with this surprise call.
My Lindy 30 was arrived! So does the Constance Belt!
The rest isn’t important anymore………………….
